Tohru Sasaki is an Independent Director of Japan Activation Capital.

Mr. Sasaki was former Head of Japan Research, J.P.Morgan Tokyo

Mr. Sasaki started his career at Bank of Japan in 1992. After gaining experience in foreign exchange market intervention, he was assigned to the bank's New York office in 2000 to conduct research and analysis of U.S. financial markets. In 2003, he joined JPMorgan Chase Bank as Chief FX Strategist. He was subsequently promoted to Head of Rates and FX Research in 2009, Managing Director in 2010, and Head of Market Research in 2015. He has consistently ranked #1 as a Foreign Exchange Analyst in the Nikkei Veritas rankings (2016 and 2018–2021).

In 2023, Mr. Sasaki was named Chief Strategist of Fukuoka Financial Group.
