Hisashi Maruyama was former Representative Executive Officer, President and CEO at Hitachi Chemical (currently Resonac).

He started his career at Hitachi Chemical (currently Resonac) in 1983. After serving as Executive Officer in 2011, he became Board Director, Representative Executive Officer and President in 2016, leading the industry-wide consolidation centered on the company. He was appointed as Representative Director and Chairman in 2022.

He also serves as an Independent Director (Member of Audit & Supervisory Committee) of Zensho Holdings and an Independent Director (Chairperson of Audit Committee) of Yokogawa Electric Corporation.
